On September 2nd, YG Entertainment‘s Yang Hyun Suk and JYP Entertainment‘s J.Y. Park came together at the Imperial Palace Hotel to attend the press conference for SBS’s ‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star‘!
As two of three judges on the show, both men discussed their judging styles as well as what they’ll be looking for in their future talents.
Yang Hyun Suk began, “I’m not going to purposely criticize or act over the top for the program’s sake. I’m going to speak the truth, and as opposed to praise, I’m going to explain what they lack in.”
When asked why he joined the program, he said, “Audition programs discovered stars based on their vocal talent, but this show focuses on the discovery of talents through the eyes of a professional based on not only vocal talent, but dance, looks, and skills as wells. I think that the other standard audition programs are fun to watch and have creative content, but if I were to criticize an aspect, it’d be that the stars they produce are only popular for the duration of the show, which is disappointing.”
Yang continued, “Once they make their major debut, they face thousands of other singers who sing just as great, if not better than them. There needs to be consistency, and that’s why I joined the program.”
J.Y. Park added, “We’re not in this to create a fun show. We’re in this to find the next Big Bang or the Wonder Girls. We’re not going to distort what we do for the sake of the program, and we’ll be picking and judging as we normally would.”
He continued, “On other programs, applicants need to be exceptional in dancing or singing, but in ours, we’re going to look for potential. We’ll be choosing the applicant with the highest potential of growth. There will inevitably be a difference in opinion between the viewers and our eyes.”
Commenting on the type of trainee that they’ll be choosing, the two gave contrasting answers. Yang revealed, “I’m going to pick the person who looks the most evil. They’ll need character, but I think the ones that look mean and strong on stage are the most charismatic.”
J.Y. Park replied, “I have a tendency of picking nice people. g.o.d., the Wonder Girls, and Rain are really bad at variety shows because they’re shy. I prefer people who are honest and diligent.”
‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star’ will begin broadcasting this December.

Currently, the upcoming show “K-Pop Star” is gaining a lot of attention for having recruited JYP and Yang Hyun Suk of YG as judges for the survival show. The PD of the show Park Sung Hoon divulged how he was able to recruit them.
Park Sung Hoon stated, “We knew from the start that we needed to bring in Yang Hyun Suk and JYP, it wasn’t like the two had no inclination to join the show. However, the two seemed to have some reservations of appearing on TV after such a long time.” “We believe that they decided to join on because they saw that the show would be very successful.”
“K-Pop Star” is a program that has now combined the forces of SM, YG, and JYP. Everyone is curious as to who will join the show as a judge from SM Entertainment. Currently Park Sung Hoon PD revealed that they are talking with SM, but for who will appear, nothing is set in stone.

The world of music audition programs just got a whole lot more interesting, as it’s been confirmed that Yang Hyun Suk and J.Y. Park will be appearing as guest judges on SBS’s ‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star‘. It will be the first time that such representative and influential figures in the Korean music industry will be making a joint appearance like this.
These two can easily be referred to as ‘Hallyu makers’, standing together at the center of the K-Pop wave. It seems they’ve agreed to judge the auditions in order to find talent capable of shocking the world.
Yang Hyun Suk called ‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star’ a “Talent identification program that holds the rest of the world as its target. We’re capable of seeing talents that the person auditioning may not even realize themselves. I want to people recognize their own talents and help them grow from there.”
J.Y. Park commented, “Age and nationality won’t matter. We’re only interested in dancing, singing, rapping, or any other musical talents and can promise to take care of the rest.”
The show plans to center around YG, JYP and SM Entertainment’s search to find and create the next generation of K-pop stars. The winner of the competition will win an impressive monetary prize, record an album to be released worldwide, and receive CF modeling contracts as well as cars.

Please take note of this message. To all members of the WBLuv International Forum, I believe you will have received an e-mail from the admins.
Apparently, there is a huge number of people out there who have been using other people’s work (manips, icons, etc.) without crediting the maker himself. Or worse, passing off other’s work as their own. There are also a number of people who have been editing and changing someone else’s work without the consent of the maker first.
Please, please remember to credit appropriately and ask for permission first before you decide to edit someone else’s work. If you don’t know where to find the artist, and decide to go ahead with editing, please do CREDIT the artist himself. That’s the very least you should do.
And this does not only apply to WonderBang manips or arts, but to other aspects as well. Let’s live a civil life, okay? 🙂
If you don’t know where to find the artist, to ask for permission, let me know and I’ll try my best to help you 🙂 You can:

Please spread the word regarding this. It’s not that difficult to include one line that says “Credits to ____”, right? 😀 😀
MTV K lists down their Top 10 Kpop Airport Fashionistas on their website, with Wonder Girls and Big Bang clenching the number 2 and 4 spots respectively!
#2 Wonder Girls
#4 Big Bang
For more info on each group, visit MTV K’s webpage! Meanwhile, read what they write up on Big Bang‘s and Wonder Girls‘ airport fashion!
# 4 BIG BANG
Maybe number 4 should go to G-Dragon rather than all of Big Bang…but T.O.P’s outrageous pants lets the entire group place on the list! Saying G-Dragon has unique fashion sense is like saying water is wet. But you sort can’t help but say it again after seeing photos of his wardrobe at an airport.
#2 WONDER GIRLS
You may agree or disagree but the Wonder Girls have the best fashion sense out of all the girls groups in private! Eclectic and eye-catching, their style isn’t overpowering and one glance and you know they’re a star.

What do you think? I absolutely agree! Though I think Big Bang could have done better on the charts! 🙂 And is it just me, or it’s so difficult to find Big Bang‘s group picture at the airport?! O_O Hmmm..
Musicians, athletes, and TV stars have all been participating in the “Pray For Japan“ photo support campaign, run by portal site Naver and Japan’s NHN.
The campaign asks celebrities to take a photo of themselves with a “Pray for Japan” sign on their cellphones as an act of support for the ongoing disaster relief efforts in Japan.
Their mission states, “Many celebrities are also stretching out helping hands in a time when heartfelt consolation is needed. Celebrities from various fields – music, sports, movies and so on – have sent their pictures with a ‘Pray for Japan’ message to NAVER for quake-stricken people in Japan. ‘Exhibition N’ now introduces photos sent in by celebrities with cheering messages. NAVER truly hopes that our prayers will reach people in Japan and give them courage to be able to reconstruct what was destroyed.”
Over 70 celebrities – such as Big Bang, the Wonder Girls, 2NE1, Dal Shabet, INFINITE, and JYJ – have taken part in the campaign thus far, and many more star contributions are being added each minute. Their heartfelt messages were also translated into Japanese for them to read.
Wonder Girls also sent out messages for the campaign:
Lim – “I was deeply saddened to hear the tragic news about Japan. I will pray for Japan to regain stability.”
So Hee – “I pray for a rapid recovery in Japan. And I cheer for everyone in Japan. Please take heart.”
Sun Ye – “Don’t Forget that our prayers are with you always. My condolences stretch out to everyone in Japan.”
Ye Eun – “Althought it might be burdensome and painful at this moment, however if you never give up, you will certainly overcome! My prayer is always with you.”
Yoo Bin – “I am saddened by the disaster in my neighboring country. I pray for all the affected to regain stability.”
